I do the big tracks on the West Coast - Laguna, Willow Springs, Button Willow. Most "driver education" with loads of cars on the track but more focused on improving my skills. There are a couple of race prep'd Vipers and 928s from International that eat my shorts. but most of the time horsepower and dollars win out. My times are decent. The car loves the track (I HATE anti-lock brakes) - can get through corners at really high speeds. On my best day I would guess I am 8/10 of the way to the limit.

I would imagine the GT2 would be the car to get.

I track a fare amount and a C5R can't touch me, ad neither can viper. I have trouble with well driven cup cars and radicals, etc.

I do track events with a 500HP+ TT on street tires.
If you want a stop-light or Street racer, get a Supra or Viper.
I don't think you want a discussion of hi-performance driving on a track, just "pedal to the metal" street performance!
I have done track events with Vettes, Vipers, Supras, and NSX's.
I have been passed by well driven ZO6's, Vipers and modded Mustangs. I dare say ANY well driven 300-400+HP track car (on slicks) can pass me!!!!!!!!

BTW, After doing Porsche-only events, this year I got into NASA DE's, with all different makes. I enjoy running with all different makes. The biggest surprise was how EARLY the Vettes and Vipers (and other cars) would brake. I would find myself right up their tailpipes. You got to love the TT brakes!!!!!!!!

I have a track event
in one week I will report back. Back when my car was only making 600 hp I had fastest time against full race Porsches! But it was raining so my awd saved the day!
