Help with diagnosis

Driving today and heard clunking noise from front drivers side.


Picture attached....Anybody know what this could be?

Hi,

I think it is the drop link from front suspension.

you broke the suspension support.

It can be welded. Just happened to my rear one. A few hours work.

this is end link -it broke up top, it's attached to your shock other end is attached to sway bar, this is an example, so you can understand it better.

can't weld that(its cast) you need a new one!

Agree welding no work. Mine was on the rear on a set of gt3 coil overs. It was mild steal.

Do I need to have car towed to repair shop, or is it safe to drive to shop....about 5 miles from my house.....

If you take it slow you should be fine.

tarrett engineering for real drop links

wont cost to much for all four corners

of course is fine to drive to shop - just lift the car up- find some zipties and make sure you secure it, you dont want to drag it in reverse, or you could bend the end link.

Ahmet is infamous around these parts
It doesn’t look like the drop link is what failed, but rather the collar around the front strut where the drop link attaches.

yes completely agree ahmet it is the collar on the front strut that has failed.

tarrett engineering still make fantastic drop links however
