Is a TT considered a "high performance car"?

On a recent life insurance application, I was asked the question, "Are you involved in car racing, own a motorcycle or a high performance car"? What exactly is the definition of a "high performance car" for this purpose? Does the TT count?

And if you answered, "Yes", will the insurance premium automatically go up?

Besides, I just don't see the correlation between "high performance car" and high mortality risk.

Seeing as they list "Car Racing and Motorcycle" in the same sentence, I would say "No" to that question. They seem to be looking more along the lines of "Racer" than "Driving a Fast Car Driver".

If they come back and say the 911 Turbo is a high performance car, you can say that:

To your standards, it is NOT a high performance car AS WELL as say that you thought they were referring to a race car when they said "High Performance".

KJ, I agree with your analysis. I think the spirit of the question has to do with racing involvement than outright ownership of "high performance car". After all, I could simply be a collector and own, say, the McLaren F1, but that's got nothing to do my mortality risk. Besides, if owning a "high performance car" were that risky, I don't see why my TSX insurance would be double that of my TT even though it has less than 1/3 of the TT's power. In fact, I would say the high performance car is "safer" since you can handle and brake better--things that just might save your life!
