? on OEM Navi with aftermarket head unit

My 01 has an aftermarket DVD player by Pioneer. I have yet to find out all it's functions but the OEM Navigation unit is still intact but not sure if it's functioning or not since I don't have a Navi disc. Is it worth trying to find someone with a disc to see if it's still tied into the aftermarket head unit or is the OEM unit just way out dated and not worth the effort?

The OEM Nav is outdated, and difficult to find the disc for your region as they are no longer available. I'm currently looking at my options to replace my PCM1 with a nice double din nav unit

I went through all of this... Even Porsche can't get you a nav CD (yes, CD). I don't think all regions were even available for the 01, so even getting a used CD is impossible for some regions. I ended up with a Pioneer ADVIC Z120BT coupled with a Alpine PDX5 and will never look back. I also replaced the speakers, but the sound quality is 100 times better. It was all posted here, but if you can't find it and you go this route, send me a PM - I have wiring diagrams and all the info you could possibly need.
