almost twice the cost of forgestar wheels at 725$ EACH 2900$ a set available in only 19".
yet made the exact same way as forgestars available in 18 or 19 in just av=bout any width and offset you want.

say what you want but forgestar wheels are some of the best wheels for the price. could the finish be better? absolutely. but i paid under 1400$ shipped for mine and couldn't be happier .

i think the HRE flow formed are a good set of quality wheels. Im not crazy about their styling for our cars. Are they twice as good as the forgestar ? No way.

im just not crazy about forgestars designs. the f14 doesnt compliment the 996/996 body (IMO of course). if forgestar did something similar to a Niche wheel (which is kind of like a knock off of HRE P101, or ADV 5.0)

There was a guy selling 18" FIKSE FM5's for 2.5k a few weeks ago. Theyre really nice wheels, and probably one the strongest (if not THE strongest) 3 piece wheels out there.
just search.

btw your GT2 wheels are worth some coin.. you can probably dump them for $1500 on here, or a couple grand on ebay.
Quick Questions: New, HRE C90 3 piece wheels. They are stunning. Fronts are 18 X 8.5, +36 offset, rears are 18 X 11, +43 offset. Standard Porsche 5 X 130 bolt pattern.

I believe the GT2 wheel offset need is front = 40 and Rear = 45. Does this mean I need spacers to get these pushed out correctly? The Rear is also only 11" and I want to say stock is 12". Sorry for the noob questions. Never messed with rims before. Thanks

the way your writing comes across to me is that you feel the "quality" of the forgestars are substandard to what you would put on a porsche. yet the hre flow formed wheels are good quality. flow formed is flow formed . no difference in how the wheels are made.

may be just how i read it but thats my take. i had hre wheels on my car when i got it. rims leaked air and couldn't run over a squirrel without bending a rim. couldn't wait to them off the car. again just my .02

forgestar isnt a sub standard wheel. the owner of forgestar is the same owner as iforged (Vince Wong). I had his wheels on my A4, and my 996tt. High quality wheel and was just as strong as an HRE. Im just not crazy about the style of their wheels. I think the HRE is slightly better because of quality control. HRE x-rays all of their wheels before it leaves the shop.

the reason i wouldnt put either wheel on a GT2 is because a GT2 is such a special car, it deserves special wheels. GT2s are the best of the best, so i think it should have the best of the best wheels on it.

Ergh, i didnt pay attention to that. These wheels wouldnt be ideal for your GT 2. You would want to run spacers in the rear. Also because its an 11" rear, you would want to run a 305 35 tire set up (which would actually be beneficial to you come to think of it)

How would it be beneficial to go down in rim size and tire size? It would be less tire contact on the road surface. is it because of Weight and Price maybe?

not sure about ADVAN. i havent heard anything bad about them, and theres a member on here with a yellow 996 and a sweeet set of ADVANs.

a 305 35 18 will give you better traction as you have more sidewall.
more sidewall = more sidewall flex. more sidewall flax = more speed through turns.

btw, are you currently on 19s ?

the contact patch doesnt change btw. a 315 will have the exact same contact patch as a 305. except the contact patch wouldnt be shaped the same.

2004 Stock Rims so 18" and thank god because the tires are considerably cheaper.

That makes good sense so thank you for informing me. I need to investigate more about rim selection and tires.
