I think they sell excellence in book stores now. Probably about 5 dollars.

Great read....
Good work Super D and all involved. It is great for the "mainstrem" non-forum reader Porsche community see what an impact Ben had on all of us here and everybody else he met.
Thanks.

Thanks. I want to also thank bumble996 and GT3Scott for putting an extra set of eyes on it for editing. Hard to edit something so personal as losing a friend. Every word and memory seems precious. I didn't send it out to everyone because it was too pressing time-wise, and I had a small window within which to write, edit, review it with Ben's wife, finalize and get it into the mag on-time. I reviewed the posts we all shared and combined it with my own experiences and spoke on behalf of and in the spirit of Ben's many friends. Pete Stout at Excellence is a good man. He'd emailed with Ben on some Porsche technical questions in the past, and was also affected by the loss of a fellow sports car lover and Porschephile. Even with just a couple of emails shared, he remembered Ben well. I directed him to our site here and the Ben section, and he was very touched by our collective grieving. They allowed me to submit a letter and publish it with priority and are owed our thanks for helping us to communicate our thoughts and love for a lost friend.

Hard to believe it was only a few months ago. Seems now like a long time. I had a pretty emotional summer at times, as many did who Ben left an indelible mark on. Went to Carlsbad on Saturday this past weekend for the meet, first time back since late May. Parked next to Fayence's yellow CGT. Felt a little odd being near it to be honest. Glad it wasn't seal grey. I overheard a guy with an F-car Spyder (not that it matters) who didn't know Ben, gossiping about him and the crash flippantly, and I just had to walk away quickly. When I hear people talk like it's the office water cooler, it's like an open nerve. Really upsetting. Tragic loss. Good friend. Good person. Good influence on all of us knucklehead sports car people and dreamers. I hope we all stay safe and get to enjoy years of friendship and fun driving experiences together. Best Regards, gang.

Thanks for reminding me! I received my copy the other day and didn't even think to look for it. I had completely forgotten.

To be clear for those of you who don't see it in stores, it is the November 2005 issue.

Great article. Very well written. Thank you Super D.

Something to note. To this day the most users ever on 6speed have been the days following his death. I think that goes to show how much of an influence he had on people. This thread should be sticky'd IMO.
