Quote: Yes , and many have done it as well. The tq is what matters and how fast the turbos come on.
+1 for markski.

Just curious ; how do the billet k24's fare against the old k24/18gs power and delivery wise?

Talked to Sam yesterday, awesome dude to say the least but..... I think he has convinced me to go the alpha route. Was thinking the 28's.

Lag doesn't mean anything to me and I want top end power not low end grunt. Thoughts...

28's are k16 on steroids. if you want top end look at 3071 3073 or 3076 tials. any of these make great power but the higher the power the more thats needed to support it. pcar power desnt come cheap!

Never compared them back to back. You can't go wrong with either one.

Well the gt28's are bigger than the hybrid 24's no? If not than yea I'll go with a 3071.

It's all about how much much money your willing to spend.
For those who have k24s there are good proven options as far as upgrades. Can't go wrong with tial alphas.

its not that they are bigger but a more advanced design. both have a 68 hta wheel i believe but the alphas are ball bearing and water cooled. the spool on the 28 are crazy fast and the torque can pull the head bolts plum out of a oem setup on high boost and a cold day.
the 30 series spool slightly later and have more room up top. its all about what your end goals are. theres also precision turbos force performance turbos that can make huge power but its the supporting parts that make it all work.

i would suggest a long research session before spending any money. it took me 6 months on paper to decide what i really wanted to accomplish and still made changes along the way

I want to run stock block. I don't want anymore than 600whp. Lag is perfectly ok with me. I'd like it to pull hard up top rather than lots of low end tq.

At 600hp it had better include a clutch. Slippery slope.

My budget? Well I don't really have one. I will get the car the way I want it no matter what the budget. I'm not looking to do this all at once. I'll figure out which turbos I want and go from there. I don't know maybe a hybrid 24 is all I need??? And yes u will do a clutch and get rid of that god awful thing in there now.

IF you have k24s for core exchange then doing the K24 billets is the best option. We actually have 2 different billet wheel sizes available. SAm has the tial 7 blade which is great too...
you will need injectors, intercoolers, exhaust, Dvs, fresh plugs and coils... and most importantly, a correct pressure test( most shops do not even do it or know how be aware).... then go one on one with the tuner to set it up right via datalogs...
thats what it takes otherwise you will be on here in no time asking for help because something is wrong... trust me...
good luck

I have to ask, what's the difference between your 24's and SAMs other than the manufacture, and that ones a 6 blade and the other is a 7???

Anyone have any flow maps available? Or back to back dynos to compare with the different turbos?

Do it all at once and be done. What you want/need for street to be happy is a basic what used to be called a "stage 2",setup that's put you about 550,crank.

Hybrids ..16/24s or the billet 24s and the misc bolt on' as that support them eg dv's 5,bar fpr or 60lb injectors and maybe some intercoolers. You'll be happy as hell and the car with a tune and exhaust will be super quick and not.lose any dependability or put undue stress on the motor.

You could probably put together that whole package these days for five grand.

As to.lag..stock 24s you'd hate the lag, I would think the billet 24s eliminate most or at least some of the low end bog.. But 16/24s are on tap from 1500rpm all the way to redline though they too will run.outa juice eventually lol
