Aftermarket X50 tips review...
So I decided I wanted to swap my oval tips over for some x50 dual round tips. Most of our good 6SO vendors sell these, shop around for price and buy from a vendor you want to support with a good rep.
Disclaimer: Bought through a 6SO vendor, pretty sure they all sell the same tips like these. Some may disagree but I'm pretty familiar with how overseas exhaust stuff works (another life of mine) so I draw my conclusions from my experience.
Overall quality is very nice, the black inside the tips is a nice touch, appears to be powder coating, chrome finish is perfect. They are made in Taiwan which is typically known for high quality exhaust manufacturing, if you want to manufacture exhaust offshore Taiwan is the place. They are made from stainless though I suspect it's not 304 as they are slightly magnetic (304 is 18% chromium and 8% nickel generally not magnetic, 200 series is less so not as much corrosion resistance) not much of an issue if you're not getting the car wet a lot or winter driving it. Install was as you would think, getting the old tips off is tough and takes some work. I broke both bolts, one had to be drilled so about 30 mins a side in total. I spent as much time on the new tips getting them lined up and straight, a lot of walking back looking and adjusting.
Overall I'm happy with the quality and oem fit for the price (~$200) and like the look of these vs. the original.
