Pagid pad install-use anti squeal plates?

Just installed the yellow front and black rear pads on my 03TT for track use. I expected squealing, but these are squealing all of the time (loud bird chirp when not applying brakes). I think part of it because new and the pad thickness prevents full release from the rotors until worn a bit.

I did not install the thin metal plates that I assume are anti-squeal, mainly because the pagid do not have a relief in them for the locating dimple that is on stock pad.

Now with the excess squealing I am rethinking this. What is typical for Pagid pad installation, use the metal plate or not? Other suggestions, or will this just wear in?

Thanks,
