Is the OEM Navi disc unit easy to remove?

I see Porsche makes a kit that can go in the Navi disc slot and create a little storage. For Porsche its cheap and around $50. My car has the Navi disc but the head unit was replaced with a DVD unit by the previous owner and I assume the Navi unit isn't tied into it and even if it was would be virtually useless since I don't have a disc and from what I understand they are not up to date anyway.

Yes, both side panels pop off and then you will see the screws.

Did this last week, like Steve said anything in the lower console is pretty easy to remove. I actually removed the whole lower console and put it on my work bench to make it even easier.

I think he is just trying to remove the disk storage trays. Pull the side panels away from the backside. They will just pop off. Then the disk tray will slide out. Nothing to unscrew. Changed mine out a few weeks ago.

I believe he's removing the NAV CD player, so he can replace it with the storage bin.

Yes, thank you. Want to remove the Nav player. It seems useless at this point.
