diverter valve leak test?

How do you know if your DV is functioning right?
I have upgraded 710N DV valves installed 10k miles ago. I'm boosting normal 1-1.1 bar and boost leak test holds 20psi with no leaks.
During back to back to back pulls...I swear I hear a "honking" sound coming from the rear once in a while..like a torn factory DV.

710n's go bad also but if you're not losing boost?

but if in doubt? they are certainly cheap enough to replace to be sure. if they honk often at wot/decel i'd just get a new set.

Compress the diaphragm spring, then plug the vaccuum port with your thumb. If it works it will hold the spring back, if it doesn't there is a leak and you need a new one.

(Dammit, '02996ttx50 beat me to it, haha)

thanks for the advice...not trying to argue here but wouldn't there be a boost leak?
I've tested it up to at least 20 psi. Holds solid

all right. I'm going to order 2 more then test them.
I don't want to take them out and find out they leak and install/remove over and over again.
Thanks.

I want stock style for this one so no evoms...

Mark.....did the boost leak test already with the 2 caps you sold me
holds solid 20psi full 30 sec....no leaks.

Only reason I checked for leak was ....i'm pretty sure i heard a honk....a few times on different occasions

Not sure then, I was thinking a boost leak test from intake would pressurize both sides so you wouldn't see an internal leak of the 710N's. Shouldn't have same issue if you skip the intake and leak test from the turbos though. If this is the case and you hold steady pressure it sounds like they're fine to me.

understand. i only mentioned the evo's as i also once talked about my honking dv's when they were still bosch. still think you can rule them in/out by testing them specifically, but you have pro help here so i'll just wish you success. i wasn't going to live with that sound for more than a cpl days though geese dug it. gl w it.
