I can tell you that on cayenne cdr-23 have antitheft code, but pcm 2.0 and 2.1 - no. I beleive this pcm 2.0 is same.

I have an 04 996 Turbo with PCM and have disconnected the battery numerous times and never had to put a code in. I have read that with Carreras there is a requirement to in put a code if the battery has been disconnected, but can't confirm if this is the case. It could also be that the PCM is linked to the ECU so as long as they match there is no code needed but I don't know. I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable will know.

FYI on the PCM2.1, there is a difference (pn) between BOSE and non-BOSE. Not sure if same for PCM2.

BOSE PCM2.1 will not work for car without the BOSE amp.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think the 996 was offered with a non Bose PCM 2.0.
