Sway bar brackets do break - check regularly.

Over the last 6 months, both left and right rear sway bar brackets broke. The most recent one happened two days ago, at 5 miles an hour going over one of those famous man-made "sleeping soldiers" I heard this loud metallic "clang" and a check the next morning showed the sway bar bracket had broken off. I can be welded of course which is what I got done immediately.
I must say that in the last few months I did feel a subtle change in the driving behavior with a different sound emanating from the rear at normal speed which did not change pitch or frequency with speed changes so it was not related to engine / gearbox axle and wheels. In fact I took the car in twice to get it checked over but it could not be found. So I am thinking it started as a hairline and gradually got worse until it finally broke off.
