New 996 Turbo Owner - Please Help Identifying Vehicle - WP0AB29992S687255
I just took delivery of a 2002 996 Turbo -
VIN: WP0AB29992S687255
I hope someone has information on who the previous owner was.
Someone put a lot of time and money into this vehicle and my mechanic has some questions that I assume only they would know. The car was in Chicago -

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

mind if i ask what this car sold for, just curios to see the market value for a moded 996tt.
thanks
Abe
This car is in amazing condition - for the year and miles. Good purchase, but risky considering I knew nothing of the history at the time.

Not strong at all - paid $48k - for a car with ~26k, that's very cheap. Most 996 Turbo's I was looking at were around 40-50k for the same $48-50k.

I am shocked on how the market value for the 996tt have dropped dramatically... hope it wont drop any more lol.
oem non modded 996 tt are holding the value pretty good actually. its the mods that i have always said don't bring value unless its suspension, braking or cosmetic. engine mods are a giveaway every time
I watched the market for months. A lot of owners are asking way too much and not selling. A good gauge is the completed auctions not what they are listed for. That being said, if you have the stomach for a modified ride you will always save money. Also if you do modify you should save all OEM items and revert back. Selling stock + parts will yeild much better results.
My only issue is the car is black. I wanted yellow but I saved about $30k with this car vs doing mods myself.

Congratz! Great looking car with tremendous amount of upgrades. I think I saw this listing on ebay, if memory serves me right.
Was $48k the original asking price? If not, mind me asking what was asking price?
Thanks. Just curious...

telescoping wheel but i don't think it tilts. at least mine doesn't.
you have a light and button next to the headlight switch. any idea what its for?
+1 to what 32krazy said. If the "S" annoys you, it's easy to remove without disturbing the original emblem.
Those are the indicators for a built in K40 radar detector.
