New 996 Turbo Owner - Please Help Identifying Vehicle - WP0AB29992S687255

I just took delivery of a 2002 996 Turbo -
VIN: WP0AB29992S687255

I hope someone has information on who the previous owner was.

Someone put a lot of time and money into this vehicle and my mechanic has some questions that I assume only they would know. The car was in Chicago -

http://2821.ecarlist.com/web/ebay_photos/1607450/

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Erik

Beautiful car!
You may already know that someone added the S to the back lid after it left the factory.

A few added parts. Do you know which exhaust is on it? I would imagine that would be on the mufflers.

uschoice - yes, I'm aware. I may leave it for now as I would have to have the turbo re-centered. It's annoying, but it's not the end of the world. I wouldn't have added it myself...

steve - here is what I 'know'

2002 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe

Black Exterior over Black Leather Interior

FACTORY EQUIPMENT INCLUDES:

Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel

Carbon Fiber Center Console trim

Carbon Fiber Door Interior Handles/Cover

Carbon Fiber Dash

Carbon Fiber Door Sills

Carbon Fiber Shifter

Alcantara Headliner

Porsche Embossed Logos on Headrests

PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS:

911Tuning SKI850GT KIT
-DME Flash
-911Tuning Custom Garrett Turbos
-911Tuning Custom Y-Pipe w/ MAF and Complete Intake System
-911Tuning Custom Race 4.5" Intercoolers
-911Tuning Custom 3" X Design Race Exhaust
-911Tuning Custom Hand-Crafted External WG Headers
-911Tuning Complete Fuel System
-Tial 44mm Wastegates
-Greddy Boost Controller
-Forged DVS
-Custom CNC Machined catch cans
-Complete SS -4 Oil line kit w/ custom adapters

Highlights:

3.6 Liter Twin-Turbocharged Flat-6 Engine
-850 Horsepower-
-731 lb/ft of Torque-
Electronic All-Wheel-Drive System
6-Speed Transmission
Bi-Xenon Headlamps
Height-Adjustable Rear Spoiler

Interior:
Leather Interior
Automatic Climate Control
Tilt-and-Telescope Sport Steering Wheel
PCM with Factory Navigation
BOSE Premium Audio System
Cruise Control
Keyless Entry System with Factory Alarm

I hope to find the person who did these mods. I know they pulled the Greddy Boost Controller - not really sure why, it wasn't a very expensive part. I've also been told it may have been tuned for Race Fuel - trying to figure that out as well. Also, o2 sensors have been removed so I have a CEL that won't go off. Otherwise, she pulls like a train and is otherwise in amazing shape, especially for the price of admission.

Thanks,
Erik

Great looking car. Did you buy from CMC? If so, wouldn't they have previous owner info?

actually I've seen this add on autotrader I wanted to go and check the car out when I was on the lookout for TT - Tons of stuff done, Maybe PM Markski on this board, he may know the car, tons of 911tuning parts on it. Overall the car was worth the money.... all you need to do just enjoy it and keep it clean and slap some wheels on

Yes - and no, they knew nothing of previous owner. Also some of the stuff listed was missing, but it's on me as a PPI was done and I wasn't informed.

This. He'd almost surely know who owned it...or at least who worked on it.

There are privacy concerns. If he feels uncomfortable, see if he would pass on your contact numbers/emails for them to get ahold of you....

I just sent a PM - agree completely. I'm more interested in the mechanic than the previous owner, but any info will help. Hard for my mechanic to decipher what's been done without any info.

Thank you everyone!

If they pulled the boost controller ask them what is controlling the waste gate and boost levels??? That would be a major concern. If one of the yahoo shop guys took it out for a joy ride then it could easily over boost that engine........

Its jeffs old car.. it has my kit on it- mostly... it does not have a ebc and it should... they did some changes.... I think they may have cut out the cats too.
I didnt put it together but I did drive it this year to see if its all good... on wgs at 1 bar it ran good... run 1,2 bar on 93 and 1.4 bar on 100 octane...
dont touch the turbos, just add the a greddy ebc, that car had the race loud exhaust... good for 1000 plus HP... so it will be annoying

Thank you! Thank you!

The boost and octane was our major concerns - we will get it back on the Greddy and tuned correctly.
