confused with transmission oil

I just got my transmission rebuilt because of transmission noise. I included a pic of the bearing at the bottom. I used to have factory oil in the transmission until 3 or 4 years ago where i switch to mobil one Delvac 75w90.

Now i just got it rebuilt and the car only has 55k miles and about 30 track days in the last 5 years. Oil was changed somewhere around 45k i guess. Everyone seems to recommend the Delvac stuff but my transmission rebuilder says he doesn't like that stuff at all and all he uses is 75w90 LS from M1 also. I don't have a LSD in the transmission but still.

Now i am afraid to put back the Delvac in it, is it what caused my bearings to wear so much? I see some people put Redline also, should i try that?

I am tempted to go back with Delvac but that stuff is so freaking hard to find (have to drive 2 hours to get some) and the LS is easy to get.

I really want to get the best stuff for my transmission but i am unsure now that it really is Delvac. What if i screw up an other set of bearings, my rebuilding will be laughing at me so much for using the same stuff he says might have caused my problem.

What is everyone's taught on this?

there are two kinds of delvac ( iirc? ) you want the 75/90 and it's ok if it has "friction modifiers" in it since you are not running with LSD.

then there is the highly recommended redline 75/90 that i and counless others have used with confidence forever. i only switched to delvac 75/90 w/out frction modifier additives because i put a wavetrac in.

this'll sort you out http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...e=997GT3TRAGT3

The 75W90 LS is the cheap stuff you get at any Pepboys. Delvac 75W90 is what you want. It's standard fill in all the Cup cars and pretty much everyone that tracks these cars runs it. I've run Delvac when I started tracking my car and have over 100 hard track hours on the gearbox with just one 2nd gear synchro replacement. I change it every 6-8 track days. Stuff works...

I buy Delvac in 5 gallon pails direct from the local Mobil distributor. You should be able to do the same in Canada
