996 turbo rear fender width compared to gt2/gt3
The 12 inch rear matters on ride height and tire size. If you are on stock suspension and stock recommended tire size then there shouldn't be any issues.
With the gt2 the intercooler bracket is different then a 996tt, which means there is more room behind the fender to modify.
I am on JRZ coilovers and a fatter tire in the rear on 19x12 inch rears, I had to modify wheel fender liner, I melted it and molded it back also punched holes in it and pulled it back with zip ties. Overall it changes from case to case.

I forget which part exactly, but pretty sure the metal bars behind. Might be rs.

but when you say "a fatter" tire? how does that translate into a 19"? and of course a 315/30 isn't fatter for a gt2, but it is for a tt. of course. if running 315/30 AND lowered, you pretty much need to roll the fenders and that inner liner is gonna get rubbed once in a while like i mentioned before.
but 19's are just outa my league so i have no idea.
Guess I was right the brackets are different. I just had bad recollection to it because its been so long lol. Sucks getting old.
I am very bad with tires/rims, I just know I like low and big, doesn't usually go hand and hand lol.

i put gt2 spec'd wheels on my tt with zero issues. didn't even roll the fenders. after 6 months of racing the car i had a small 6" long rub on the drivers side rear inner fender well. guessing it came from 5000 rpm launches!
fwiw don't give up on rennlist. theres some great info there and a few knowledgeable folks who don't use 6so. its a resource to be made the most of

I gave up on re--list because they have a high school mentality there and were rude over and over again and what seemed like moderator abuse and even the owner of the site joined in on the group abuse of people they didn't think were the "cool kids", in my opinion it's a horrible group of people and a horrible site. I'll never return to it.
wealth manager I'm guessing the bracket in the pet catalog is an added piece? i don't remember seeing it when i took my brackets off to modify for 4.5" i/c. the large main bracket is all i had
R.L. is home
The bracket is #36 in my pics above, replaces the TT bracket and pulls the inner fender liner closer in.
Cheers,

thats a shame. for me i find rennlist to lean more towards road racing and 6so to lean towards straight line racing. both sites have been helpful to me and i know many on here that visit there as well. the only thing i don't care for is the membership fee to see member to member sale ads

No. That is a false assumption. Only GT2 has the shorter bracket. The reason that the shorter bracket creates slightly more room is that is attaches the liner on the side instead of down by the IC hose. Here is a picture of the GT2 brackets on my car. The TT and GT2 fender liners are the same except there is a hole drilled in the side of the TT liner to accommodate the GT2 bracket. The part #36 that Rob mentions above is correct. It is a direct bolt on to the TT. If I recall, the brackets are about $70 each.
As far as rubbing, I run large rear tires (305/30/19 and 315/35/18) both of which are 26.3 and 26.4" tall, which is almost 1" taller than GT2 sizes. I run 19x12 and 18x12 wheel of ET40 offset. Fenders came rolled from RUF. Camber is -2.4. I have no rubbing whatsoever and I am running at a ride height of 96/120 (about 1/2" lower than GT2 height) on JRZ Pro shocks with fairly stiff springs. I can get away with this since motorsport shocks have a much shorter stroke than a street shock. I doubt this set up would work with street springs and shocks as you would probably be rubbing at the top of the fender liner under heavy compression due to the larger diameter tire. My tires tuck under the fenders slightly at static ride height.

I'm a renlister and find that site more of a drivers forum, especially the GT2/3 forums where guys are less concerned with what wheel look good or what carbon fiber bling to add to their interior, but rather with what will make the car go fast. Both forums have valuable information in my opinion. I find that I sell items much quicker on rennlist than here but that is due to the fact that most items I sell are suspension or race track oriented. I'm sure a meth kit or a set of 3076 turbos would sit there forever but get snatched up here in a heartbeat. It's worth the $10 membership per year or whatever it is. I've never has any issues there. Good bunch of guys. Sorry you had a bad experience.
Just a theory.
As to RL. Its. Greatly informative place but a bit more "stuffy" and I'm sure I'm much more easily "tolerated" "here". Though not by much lol
