Higher cornering stability, more responsive, definitely lots more steering feed back and heaps more grip at the limit than the PS2.
At the risk of being argumentative. Are you comparing brand new PSSs to old worn out PS2s??? Or what you think you remember the PS2s were like when they were new?

This business of 'tire reports' is really a mess. Take a trained driver on a closed course and drive new tires (or tires with 1k miles on the set) back to back...anything else is just subjective. There have been FEW reports with this rigor on the asp heavy 996TT over the years....

IMO a set of PS2s on all 4 corners will outperform a set of PSSs on all 4 corners. Marginally. But will cost way more and wear faster. Not worth it IMO. You need that extra 5%, but track tires.

I run PSS on the M5 as a DD, and find them to be perfectly fine. Equal in every way to the PS2s I ran for years for that particular application. (Spirited, aggressive..but not at the limit driving.)

My 2 cents

Well here's my 2 cents worth.
Yes PS2 were fairly worn out but I do not remember them (even when new) being as good in cornering stability, responsiveness and as much steering feed back. Yes I did have them at the limit to where they were squealing until they scrubbed in.
PSS also have a stiffer side wall than the PS2 (N3) which in my opinion adds to the experience..
May be the newer generation N4 are far superior but i haven't tried them so couldn't answer that one.
Thank you for your feed back, this is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions and experiences.

We are a day ahead of you here, so I am typing this after a few Christmas day drinks.
Merry Christmas

i love the way the car runs on ps'2's but ard nailed the downside. cost.

i'd run PSS all 4 corners in a heartbeat, and they do seem to have a bit stiffer sidewall but i could be imagining that bit. i'm not imagining needing a stiff sidewall given the lateral stresses they endure daily on hard comers, off camber etc.

i have to say, that while i search for options in 315/30/18 i don't think any tire is going to outperform either iteration of the michi's. but i'm going to try the g force rivals in the rear X the PSS front. just found out that michelin makes the g force rival tires, after all!

so its either that ..or new n4' ps2's... again.. lol
