Quote: he hasn't said it failed but the mileage and age would suggest its on its last legs. as he only tracks 4 days a yr i would hazard a guess its more a daily driver/weekend car that will see huge gains with a nice coilover setup properly balanced and aligned

my car only had 35,000 miles on it when i had the setup rebuilt he is at 50k now

john just to clarify the wavetrac is only 1200$ plus install which on mine was 200$.
That's really a great deal then. I thought it was around 2K.. A regular LSD will run around $4k.. Good to hear your JRZs are still treating you well since the rebuild. I would say 30K mile rebuild interval is good on those shocks. I was at PRI two weeks ago and JRZ is releasing some trick new 4 way shocks for 2015. Around $17K for a set!

Wow, that cheap?

I say search for a used set of Coilovers then, they can be found for less than a grand, I've seen them in the $600 range. Not a hard DIY, plus alignment and corner balance. He can be under 3k.

yep warrenty for life and good for 1000 hp. autotech in cali builds them and unitrax in cali sells them and also installs them if you live close. be nice to find a nice set of jrz and rebuild them.

i had a few dealings with this member. good seller parts are as described. he might be willing to make someone a good deal as he is almost done selling all the parts off his car. most he can do is say no! he has pics of the coilovers on the first page. kw clubsport coilovers

Thanks for the great feedback. What was I thinking asking on this forum for a choice? Of course I now want to do both and will. I'm going to get the diff first because the open rear is a problem right now. The suspension is more of a situation where I know I will probably think my car had the biggest POS handling after getting the coilovers +drop links+rear sway but because I don't know any better now it isn't as critical.
There's nothing wrong with my current suspension except for its age so I don't think it is unsafe.
Let's see...strosek wing, new slotted rotors, wavetrac diff and now coilovers...that should pretty much take care of the bonus check
I knew this would be the result; I guess I just needed that push over the cliff. Thanks again and Merry Christmas / Happy Hannakuh !

might as well copy pwderhounds extreme brake setup!! i think the only thing he doesn't have are jet flaps to slow him down!

Quote: Add a rear GT3 sway or the Tarett copy and call it good. Tarett drop links are a great addition. The wave track TBD is a proven product used by a number of guys here like Mark and Steve and at around $2k quite a bargain. .
it's even better than that john! mine was about ( iirc? ) $1200/1300+/- not counting the install which in fact a bit labor intensive, and needs a good trans place to do it right.

but the consensus here seems to be he needs both, and i'm sure that's optimal, but i'm with heavy on this one insofar as running lowered with springs rwd w proper lsd OR the wavertrac.. well, lets just say there are worse setups lol. also giken and quaife also make similarly priced lad's specifically for our cars, though gear driven? e.g. the wavetrac, as opposed to "plate type" such as a guard. but any would help dramatically.

gt3 sway rear lowered rwd w wavetrac and faggedouboudit.

mrmass i would take sam up on his offer to consult. the guy'll have the stuff to you in a cpl days. best xmas gift to yourself and the car possible, given where you're at now. MAJOR improvement. happy xmas everyone! i'm about to go not spin my wheels

I would go with coilovers first and lsd second but since he has decent suspension I agree get wavetrac.
