My exhaust is full 3inch titanium inconel and it still has drone. Kline makes sick inconel exhaust.

 

Would think dead pipes that compact air would create more drone.

 

It's a quarter wave resonator. It is relecting the opposing sound wave to cancel out the offending frequency.

 

Anybody have the math on these? The 1/4 wave resonance is a fairly basic formula but there are many assumptions that need to be made that can skew the physical dimensions all over. I would like to see the numbers used for something that was built and worked. However I would imagine whoever did it might consider it proprietary. Can't hurt to ask though. I plan on adding something like this to my Kline knockoff exhaust that came on my car.

 

It would be difficult for me to put the bumper back on my car with one of Chris's exhausts.

It works! Inside the car it's SO much better than my previous exhaust. I can actually have a conversation in the car and hear my stereo. Friends are now willing to be passengers. Outside though it's a bit loud, like sport bike loud. You can hear the turbos easily and you won't go WOT without heads turning. I'm likely going to ask Chris to add small mufflers to my system come Fall. Totally worth it IMO, my system is stainless with cats. I've got deletes but not used them although Garth will be when he tunes it. I'm in NOVA if anyone wants to have a listen when it comes home....

 

i think you should get a new system and keep the cats and sell me yours woth the cat deletes

 

good luck i just wanted the resonator pipes to fit a custom exhaust as i dont have stock turbos, had to get Chris to build a complete exhaust for my application.

 

has Unobtainium 'finalised' their anti-drone/'heimholtz' design yet? every one of their exhausts seems to be different from what I've seen
P.S. you don't know what drone is until you run true straight-back pipes...BRUTAL cruising, LIFE on track/WOT

 

I,don't think Chris has changed the size of the pipes, he tunes the design for different materials and different customer requests though for sure. Want a different catalytic? Sure, he can do that. Want a different pipe diameter? He can likely do that too. Mufflers? He's done at least one! His stuff is hand built and a work of art, he may tinker with the design some but each system is built well. I know when he first built systems for our cars he iterated through several designs on a member's car and he was still doing some testing when my system was built. In the end it fit like a glove and relieved me from some gawdawful drone that d lived with for YEARS! He also talked me out of a more expensive Ti system based upon my intended use. Checkout his Facebook page, he does some pretty crazy work!

Krazy, I have seriously considered having him build me a other system and selling this one. It's not a bad idea and would save some shipping. Let me get my car back from Garth and enjoy it this Summer first lol

 

Those anti drone pipes can't be great for power , it has to disturb flow and create turbulence no?
