built some rear dogbones
I recently made some for my wifes 135i. Sometime between ordering the last of the parts and receiving them she decided she wants to get back in an M3 so they may find their way on my 335i.
I had originally bought a popular set from a vendor but really didn't like them. They really used the wrong sized tubes. I had a machinist make me up some sleeve/spacers in stainless (better than the plain steel the vendor used) and got some proper length tubes that would allow for sufficient thread engagement on the rod ends.

I've ordered the base parts as described here. Thanks to the OP for putting in the details. Already had some rubber boots on the shelf. Just need to solve the spacer construction. Don't have a lathe or milling machine in the garage.
Can someone post up and measurements for the correct length of the aluminium tube and the measurements of the rod ends ie thread size and bolt hole diameter and if poss a drawing showing the shape and measurements of the spacers.
The scalloped dogbones are definitely the better looking ones but my question is how will you hold onto the tube part to adjust the settings further down the line when the rod ends get tighter in them? Surely the better option is one with a hex for a spanner!

Check this thread.. i put most of the information there. Total lenght of the rods i made was 6.75" https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...es-budget.html
Wouldnt the toes be a little more complicated since they are adjustable?
The dogbones are adjustable, thats the whole point, the toe links are just bigger versions.
I dropped my car nearly 2 1/2" from stock. I took reference points from the center of the fender wells as well as suspension points the the factory uses. To get what I wanted in alignment, I first made the adj rear upper dog bones. I then started specing and doing a component for the rear adj toe links just in case. My rough in alignment in the drive way and a 130 MPH run, where I could take my hands off the wheel, told me I may not need the toe links after all. A pro alignment verified that. BTW, I found a full 2.5" drop too much so I'm now about 1 7/8" up from 2". I did have the pro align at 2" drop. I got it within 1.5 degrees or less in the driveway.
Good point... Im just going to go hide in the corner for a bit and forget I made that comment...
