built some rear dogbones

Here are pictures of the dog bones I built for the rear. I used 5/8 scalloped tie rod tubes and heat and cryo treated rod ends rated at over 17500 lbs. I still need to procure the metric to rod end adapters, but I've only got 183 dollars in them so far.

I think I spent about $125 on the metric misalignments when I built those, and I still needed to cut them down on lathe.

I'll post up sources soon. I think I've located adapters for about 20 a link, so 80 total. Way cheaper the the 600-700 most charge for brand name parts.

I made up these last year. All I could find were "inch" misalign bushes, so I sleeved them with thin wall brass tubing to the metric size. Install was a breeze and I was able to get a perfect rear alignment with the stock rear toe links and a 2" drop with KW V1 Coilovers.

The car handles great, no added noise or harshness. I didn't use dust boots as I don't drive in rain or snow.

There's no building of anything. Its buy the parts and screw them into the correct ends with the jam nuts. I think I got the direction for the dog bones from one of Mike Kelly's post. The rod ends and nuts came from RuffStuff Specialties and the tubes from DRP performance products.

R10515/8 Rod End LH4 $11.00
0058RE5/8 Rod End RH4 $11.00
000058JN5/8"JamNut4 $1.40

*58JN5/8" Jam Nut4 $1.40Thread Direction: Right Hand Thread***

Tubes-6" black SKU 007 50806B 13.25 ea.

It's the bushings people are asking gclasse about making as he fabricated the part that many seem to have trouble finding? Sounds like alldantia may have the solution, source? I might be interested in building a set myself if it's a matter of simply buying and screwing it together but I'll be looking for booties for the rod ends and/or sealed ends. Love the scalloped tubes!

Here is a metric one, you just need to mill the width down.

What is the ID of the location on the rear upright where the rod end attaches? And what is the OD of the metric bolt used to secure the rod end?

I'll be happy to research insert options with this data.
