996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

Is it worth coverting to 3.8 "102mm" or not?

So I guess the task would be to find a place that I could send everything that needs to be ultrasonically cleaned.

Many good machine shops have ultrasonic cleaners. I'd replace the oil cooler though since they tend to trap debris and release them at the worst time.

My plans are to replace the cooler and clean everything else. I've found a cooler for $520 it didn't seem like a bad deal. Retail is around $700

I don't believe I'd do a 3.8 personally but to each their own. It doesn't seem like the best place to spend money to me. IIRC Layinback gained 40 rwhp with his 3.8 over his 3.6. I'm sure spool is reduced as well but for me it's not worth spending a lot of extra money on an extra .14 L especially if you're not shooting for over 1000 hp.
