Sell the turbo for an Atom?
Hi guys!
I've had my 996tt for 6 years now. Modified it and it's great. I have to admit I'm a little bored with it. I'm thinking of an Ariel Atom. Thoughts?

Once in a great while one of the UK car mags attempts to treat an AA as a GT in one case driving one in Norway to above the arctic circle (in winter no less) but I think it a stretch to consider the AA as anything more than an exceptional -- if the reviews are accurate -- track car.
My advice would be to go test drive one, drive it as you intend to use it -- even if this is as a GT car -- and make up your mind.
If the weather is bad be sure to wear your rubbers.
To much of a trendy/fad type thing in my opinion but if you want performance they have it. Keep the 996tt and pick up something else to play with= lots of cheaper fun rides out there.
Was just looking at their stuff the other day, they have a bunch of used cars on their site! All sorts of different trims and motors with at least one having full fenders. Not practical as any sort of a daily but I sure wouldn't mind having one - but not at the expense of selling the 996 IMO.

Not familiar with the BAC Mono.
There are some nice enclosed cars.
There's the Ginetta G60 with a 3.7l V6, 310hp, 288 lb ft torque. Don't know how much it weighs. I have not read any reviews of it.
There's another car fully enclosed that is the hot setup. The Radical. 4-cylinder. 2l. 245hp. 265 lb ft torque. Again, no weight. But with these cars the weight is quite low. Acceleration 0 to 60mph in 3.0 seconds. Top speed of 160mph. These are not heavy cars.
The above are really intended for track use. While one can drive the car to/from the track -- least in the UK where it appears anything with wheels can be licensed for the road -- road use beyond to/from the track I think would be out of the question.

Here's a link. Not much info, that is no real details. But it was done.
