DME Swap and Over Rev

DME Swap and Over Rev
As many of you know I had a DME failure about a year ago. Being my ADD self I never checked the ignition ranges on my original DME prior to the swap. The current DME came from IPGJAMES' car which I know had both more miles and more mods. My question is, whose ignition ranges are on the DME that is in my car?

I don't know if the over rev counters are stored in non-volatile memory in the DME or if they are stored in non-volatile memory in an external FLASH memory chip.
A gold level certified senior tech at the local Porsche dealer might know.
Or if you have the DME installed read the overrev counters and see for yourself. I bet you can tell which car the overrevs belong too even if you didn't read the ones from your car's DME before.

that makes sense, you ll have all the operating hours info from the old plus whatever plugged in post install in your own car. weird.
i wouldn't try to put your old data on the current ecu at all. greater possibility of corrupting it. though that's just a stab at the issue. i think you should just keep your new one as is..working fine. keep the old one on hand, and make the old one available at request. it won't be like you're hiding anything, and thats all that matters. someone wants to know what happened before? let em scan it as part of a ppi.

Maybe I should just keep the car forever and ever . If I do, I am wrapping it a different color haha.
