I need an early spot on a Ford GT!

Yes, I will have to take a picture that I can post.
Like other vintage cars of yester year, their legends over shadow what they really are as compared to todays exotics. Here are some of the actual stats of my orginal Ford GT40.
Weight 2,485 pounds
track front and rear 55.0/55.0 inches
wheel base 95 inches
lenght 164.5 inches
width 70.0 inches
height 40.0 inches
fuel capacity 37.0 US gallons
motor ohv V-8
displacement 4736 cc
bore and stroke 101.6 x 72.9 mm
Horsepower SAE net 380 bhp @ 6500 rpm's
torque 330 ft/lbs @ 5500 rpm's
fuel delivery 4 Weber 48 IDA 2-bbl.
Tranny 5 speed manual
final drive ratio 4.22:1
layout mid engine drive
brakes f/r Girling 11.5 inch discs
wheels Borrani wire 15 x 6.5"f/ 7 x 15r
tires Goodyear 5.5/15f and 7.0 x 15r
steering rack and pinion
suspension coil springs, tube shocks, anti roll bar/upper arms, reversed lower A-arms, upper and lower trailing arms. coil springs, tube shocks and anti roll bar.
0-60 5.0 seconds
1/4 mile 12.5 @ 115.2 mph
top speed 205 mph
Mine was a 289, they also made a 427, however even the 427 motor is pale by today's street car standards. I have owned both original 427 SC and 289 (actually it was a 260, it was Ken Miles #7) Cobras.

I think the car will perform real well but there are servicing issues. With the limited production, less than half of all US Ford dealers will get one each year. Bidding will be ferocious and my spot isn't locked at MSRP. At $150,000 it is questionable and beyond that doesn't make any sense at all.

I think many of these will be locked away into large collections as an interesting , limited run " one-off " and it's owners won't give a hoot about actual performance.
Can you imagine the panic if Ferrari made a few hundred modern near to original bodied GTOs off a truncated version of the 575 successor's platform ? Or if Porsche did the same with it's 356 - oh wait they already do - it's called the 996 .

I am a big fan of the Ford GT and think its great looking and probably a great performer, $150k for a Ford is hard to accept and I wonder if one is in service if the same mechanic that works on the Ford Focus is also going to be working on the GT.
