Found the leak, any ideas?

Hard to tell by trying to see it from garage floor at night... I'm pretty sure that's coolant, now it explains few things: Wondering if anyone ever had a leak from that place, and whats above maybe someone can post a picture of the engine....whats above that area....any coolant pipes?

story: Had to add coolant few weeks ago to top it off, because it was below _low_ line, (have the car for 8 months now so i was thinking maybe it was when they changed the clutch ), since i drive the car only on weekend.

Was checking for leak last weekend, car runs, drives, no overheat, no warning lights etc,...i pull out of the garage, no leak when its fully warmed up, after 50 miles of driving it, no leak. (BUT IF car is left over night, it shows wet spot on the floor) thinking when coolant cools down it leaks----also it looks like someone used wrong coolant as well, or its just old, looks orange/yelow'ish, smells like coolant car has 47k miles, probably never changed.

Wondering if the engine needs to be dropped to fix that leak.

I took few pictures, that's rear drivers side.

I can't tell from the picture, but there is a very small hole on the water pump. It is there to tell you when the inside of the pump is toast. The "warning Light" for this failure is a small puddle on the floor. It is very possible - that is your problem. If it is the pump, it's not a big deal. Easy DIY. (See my thread)

in that location i would check the oil cooler/manifold or the small coolant hose coming to of oil cooler first then also the heater core lines above the head right next to the injectors.Take a long mirror and flash light and snoop around above where trans meets engine

^ +1 and also clean it from the top down and see what happens. Could even be from a sloppy oil service (I hope so)

^ yeah I can't tell until I slap the car on the lift (too tired after getting home) I'm going to inspect it this SAT to see where its leaking from and also replace clutch slave cylinder - since its just sitting in my garage and that needs attention as well. lol. I just hope i dont have to drop the damn engine!

look closely and try to find where it is coming from cause if it is the small coolant hose coming out of the back of the oil cooler it can be replaced by dropping trans only and since you are doing the slave anyway you would be almost there. just a thought

the mere fact you see orange/yellow when the coolant should be pink is enough of a reason to go thru a coolant flush and while there find any leak. we're not even gonna get into the *old* expansion tank saga lol. just change that sh*t.

Wish they did hatch in rear as well -inside of the car, lol where you can just open and inspect it better and maybe replace stuff like plenum etc.lol.

Hrm, a hatch is an interesting idea. You can pull up the carpet in back to find a very nice sized nearly flat piece that is likely just over top of the engine... I don't think it's a great idea but I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone hasn't cut that at some point for access!
