Accessing Intake Manifold Boots
Accessing Intake Manifold Boots
After checking for boost leaks, it seems like I have a leak at one of the rubber intake manifold boots on the passenger side of the engine. Does anyone have any suggestions to accessing the back two boots on the passenger side? They are stuffed back there pretty good. I plan to lower the engine a bit, but would appreciate any suggestions for being able to get a wrench on the hose clamps. I don't suppose it can be seen from the wheel well with the engine lowered and the liner removed from the fender?

Yeah wishful thinking but u can't get to them by just lowering the engine on the bolts a couple of inches and removing the wheel liner.Your best bet is to lower the engine as much as possible and then try removing the air box,y pipe,p/s pump ,smog air pump and u should be able to get it.Maybe a few hrs if take your time.
I've been able to tighten up all of the passenger side boots as well as the middle and rear boots on the drivers side. The furthest boot forward on the drivers side is now the only one hissing, but it seems like it will be difficult to reach because of the intake ducting. Perhaps removing the fuel filter will allow me to reach it? Any thoughts or suggestions on this boot?
