I think only aftermarket (like alpine or sony) in dash CD players-recievers have an AUX port. I especially think that because of the MOST system, there would be no way to connect the CD changer to the ipod.

Back to your original question. I have my iPod connected through the FM antenna. I have a switch and a jack installed in the center council and plug the iPod into this port. I tune the FM receiver to 89.9 and Wala! Music. It sounds GREAT!!

I have the IPOD also and am very, very happy with it. I have not used any of the FM transmitter methods because of the sound quality loss. I have, however, heard of guys retofitting direct audio outputs to their audio system in M5s and using the same to connect to their IPODs--without losing digital quality. I will check some threads on the M5 board.

Also, does anybody know if a Phatbox can be used with an 02 TT--it would be a great way to get rid of all CDs if it is impossible to have a digital link to an IPOD.

ZIGZAGN,

Is that through what people are calling a FM modulator instead of an FM transmitter/receiver. Where did you get it?

My ipod is hardwired from my ashtray (1/8" mini input) to the A/V input on my Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD. The power supply is a silver "telephone" cord coming from behind the console on the passenger side. Right now I'm keeping it in one of the cubbies but I'm trying to modify an aftermarket holder that will stand in the ashtray. The sound is great. 20 gig. All my favorite cds (100+) are on there.

I don't think, but I'm not 100% sure, that an ipod can be hardwired into a stock or stock bose system.

I am not sure if the Phat noies system is going to extent in to the Porsche line. But I am still looking for the optional aux instead of the Changer. You can ad an aux in the VWs and the Audi so I would think that porsche should be the same. I will post back with what I find.

I just tried the Belkin FM transmitterr for IPOD today and was imoressed - excellent sound quality with no interference (could be though cause skies here are clear as there are only 5 FM stations...)

u guys should try out the iTrip from Griffen Technologies...i think it's the best FM modulator for the ipod out there. I have one that I use in my BMW and it's great. For the TT, I use the aux jack on my Kenwood DVD deck...

which Ipod do you have (the latest generation)?? I was told the Belkin was better and I got tired of waiting for the new Itrip to come out...With the Belkin you can tune to ANY FM station not 4-5 pre-set ones like on the Itrip for the old Ipod

I was going to try to have my ipod hardwired but instead I had my factory CD changer replaced with one that plays mp3 CDs (150-200 songs per disk). With the 10 disk changer I have I can have up to 2000 songs in the car at any time.

Was that with the factory Bose system? If so, what brand of changer did you get?

This would work on an 02...replacing the CD changer on the 03 is harder due to MOST
