hey guys have not started my 01turbo for a while but when i turned the key i heard a chirp from the motor this happened twice and now it gone i seem to remember it happening years ago but can not remember what the cause was help please

 

It sounds like the belt slipping on initial start. One of the pulley's may have been temporarily seized. That's my guess...

 

Agreed. Also if you wash the car and then start it there is often a belt chirp. When I wash mine I cover the engine bay under deck lid with a rubber mat to keep the water off the alternator and belt.
