The stock TT uses a plastic membrane recirculation valve (aka dump valve aka diverter valve). If you go toEVO's website they have a description on what a dump valve is and what it does. Plastic ones like the stock units are bound to fail...Most people (especially if you run higher boost) upgrade these to a piston type valve (like mine in my sig )
Hope this helps...
BTW - if you are in the UK there is a company called Bailey Motorsports that makes one of the better ones around

I hada set of Bailey DVs on my S4 and all I got was trouble. They would stick open all the time or leak with caused that car to over boost and eventually helped in blowing up my turbos. I like the look or the EVOMS valves.

Oh, I was thinking of getting Baileys, but I do not want them to end up killing my turbo's. Anyone else have this expierence, and are there any onther good ones other than the bailey's?

Sindi ,600 bhp ???? That must be awesome and terryfiying for passengers

I was thinking of changing the exhaust headers and the recirculation valves would this make any performance difference ?
Also a ECU re-programming but Im struggling to find people in the uk who do it.
I don't want to modify the car too heavily ,but wouldn't mind an extra 30-50 bhp.

YSITSMN-
It sounds as though you are well versed regarding the 2.7T engine. Can you please explain to me how a sticking valve can cause turbos to fail?

I know you like the looks of the EVOMS valve, but what does not look right on a Bailey? Are there internal component differences between them that sways your opinion to like one over the other?

The only way a sticking valve would destroy a turbo would be if it stuck closed and caused the turbo to stall, thus destroying the seals. The throttle body closes, yet the turbo doesn't stop moving, the air snaps back off the throttle body and slams back in to the compressor, thus causing a jolt. The jolt will tear a turbo apart in heartbeat. An open position would only cause a boost leak and lack of pressure. Really no ill effects should occur.

Thank you.

I would also like to add that any good chip programming is going to have all of the factory failsafes intact and if there were any type of overboost deviation the car will default to limp mode.

Many TT owners are running Bailey's includng me with no problems. Some Porsche dealers were replacing the failed stock DV's with Bailey's also. Again, I have not heard of any problems on this or other boards with Bailey's on a TT.
