NCM (National Corvette Museum) Insurance initial quote was $602/yr. It was followed up by an email this AM for $898/yr. That's a lot higher than what I'm now paying or a Geico quote

Was the first quote on the phone or online? Any explanation for the increase?

Insurance....

Tried a few.......some companies just wouldn't insure the "Turbo" version.....qot a quote from Travelers insurance.....full coverage, daily driver (although under 8k yr)...added house and 2 other cars.....turbo alone came in under $350 for the year!

Online, after hours. It wouldn't let me enter a deductible higher than $250.

Apparently an agent reviewed it, raised the rates for comp and coll by over 50%. The online version was pretty basic, didn't check my record, vin #, other drivers, etc.

Update, I found a company that will give me great rates without mileage restrictions. It is a top 10 company listed on Autoinsurance.org that I don't feel like naming for obvious reasons. My new policy is $273 for 6 months, unlimited miles, 1000K deductable, 100/300K, towing. I also live in a large metro area.

I went to geico after statefarm doubled my premiums for the 996tt. The problem with comparing just the cost on this forum is that; locations differ, multi car discounts, rent vs own home, uninsured stacked vs non stacked and deductible.

I pay about $1100 ish for her with low mileage, stacked uninsured (x3), 300/300 limits coverage. Compared to my local friends with similar coverages my cost is in line with theirs here in south florida

May I inquire what the obvious reason is for not sharing the name? It's not obvious to me... since the topic of the thread seems to be "who are you using for insurance and what are you paying for coverage?"

Unfortunately, it's common practice with most insurers to increase premiums upon renewal. Do you mind sharing your co?

Share the co if you can. Something doesn't quite fit the equation. I've been doing this a LONG time and I've never heard of premiums that low...

If it's liability only, there's a chance that you have that premium but full coverage AND unlimited mileage is pretty miraculous.

progressive and they are aptly named as they progressively raise my rate(s).

i'm shopping for the first time in years. but am also afflicted with laziness if the savings are minimal, as i imagine they will be.
