My new 710N's are honking!

I recently replaced my stock DV's with 710n's and tuned the car a few days prior. The car seemed to be doing ok on the stock ones but figured it would be a worthwhile upgrade.

The car ran fine the two days I had it running before the water pipe issue hit and this put the car out of commission for two months. I just got it back and noticed thay it was only making .7bar vs 1.0bar before the service.

I heard a sound that after researching I now know to be 'honking'.

This seems odd given that the 710n's are supposedly very reliable and brand new.

Is it possible that they (or one) has failed or is it possible that there is a vacuum line that causes them to honk and have low boost pressure?

What is the best way to diagnose the culprit (pressure test or otherwise)?

It's been months since the car has been right and this is the last thing to sort. Can't wait to get it back on the road soon!

Thank you all!

I'd check to see if the signal vacuum line is kinked or not sufficient enough. Good luck man!

Sorry, but I don't know what that is.

Could you clarify and disclose its location?

Update:

Last night I checked their orientation, hoping to see that one was installed in reverse but it wasn't the case...

Headed to the shop this afternoon for a pressure test.

I'm hoping it is something simple like an easily accessible vacuum line but in the event that my DV's have failed or were damaged in the engine removal I picked up another set from a local dealer.

Good luck man. That's what I meant...vacuum/pressure line to the diverter valves. Maybe a sticky valve also.

My 710N's did the exact same thing. Old ones didnt honk, new ones honked if I accelerated slowly at about 3000 RPM if I remember correctly. They did it the first year but cant remember if they did it the second year. I will see if they still do it when the car gets on the road this summer.

Haha, on my last track day people were asking me "What is that strange honking sound your car makes?" I have the same problem with my 710ns and it started pretty much as soon as I put them in and has become progressively worse. I am at the point where I want to replace them but I don't know what DVs to use. I've heard mostly negative things about all aftermarket DVs and I thought 710's were the way to go but maybe not anymore.
What is the consensus on best DV choice these days?

So...what's so wrong with the stock? I have 100000 miles on mine at 1.1 bar and they don't leak, or quack.

A few years ago someone posted a link to an article showing that 710n DVs were tested to be superior to the part number that comes stock on our cars. They were supposed to be able to support higher pressures and last longer, they are small like stock so they are easy to install and they are reasonably priced so many of us used them when replacing worn stock DVs.
Now it seems that quality may not be great anymore after reading all these posts and experiencing issues personally.
