Which mount for a gopro?

Was given a hero2. Never used one really.

I'd like to mount one outside the car, but does the suction cup really hold?

Which one? Brand etc?

Don't buy any off-brand. Gopro only. Spend the $40

I just used my GoPro last month for the first time (hero 4) with the suction cup and that thing is a beast. I made it to 135 on the track and did some unplanned off-roading and it held like it was welded to the car. I believe the poster above is correct; GoPro tests and guarantees their suction cup will hold to 150mph.
I believe it after seeing how it works.

Agreed, if it's mounted correctly. Use instant detailer to thoroughly clean the area where the suction cup will go. Any dust on the car will impact how well the mount holds. I also use the instant detailer to clean the suction cup itself.
In the 7 years I have been doing this for camera mounts and lap timers, I have never had any problems.

Good Luck, and post video

The Go Pro Mount is very stout. Held up very well with lots of track time driving.

typically i only use glass for the mount. i have very slick wax on the paint so i stick to a flat glass surface

Turns out I ended up with two... If anyone needs one let me know.

It's not a complete package with all adapters but enough to use.
