OEM carbon, had better days

So according to my vehicle sticker the car was delivered with alot of carbon interiour.
Now this have seen better days, and i believe most of the damage is caused by the sun.
So i guess others have had similar problems, and i wonder if you have any tips as to help me on sorting this out the best way?

Replace with black plastic pieces from ebay for cheap, or purchase MA or DB carbon pieces. Thats pretty much your options. MA and DB arent cheap options though.

Ingenere is infamous around these parts
I had one 996t with CF everywhere. The only pieces that were problematic were the steering wheel and those upper dash strips by the windshield. I found that careful application of contact cement kept the pieces where they needed to be on the dash.

Send it to me. No promises, but I can make it look MUCH better than that - you'll be out shipping (both ways). I removed the leather and covered most of my interior trim in real CF (not 3M stick on vinyl).

How did you do that? Do you work with carbon fiber?

The aftermarket stuff is insanely expensive. Just an instrument surround is like $800!!!

I just got into it after buying my TT. Some of the trim was looking a little tired so I figured I'd give it a shot. I know buying CF trim is really expensive, but I don't understand why. It cost about $40 in CF and $100 in resin to do most of the trim in my TT. It is pretty labour-intensive, but I find it a fun hobby.

My 2001 996TT also has the carbon fiber package and the CF on the dash warped up badly. I tried to fix several times by straightening with a heat gun but it always warps back up. Recently I just removed the two dash strips and plan to go to a local car interior repair shop and have them put some matching black leather there.

It costs that much because "Porsche" is the brand. For anyone that's been outside of the Porsche world with sports cars, its easy to identify the crazy high prices with the "ultra high quality" non-sense trying to justify the price. As if other quality CF for a reasonable price would cost anywhere near that. Other sports cars would have setups to get most all of the interior trim in CF for <=$1500.

I'm sure those prices made sense and didn't seem outrageous when the 996TT was a 130k car, now its a 30-45k car though. I'm really amazed no other vendor has stepped in as competition with CF pieces. Even undercutting DB and MA by a few hundred dollars seems like they would steal all the business for the 996.
