New (to me) 2003 996 TT - Track Prep
As you are finding out, the R888 is probably one of the worst track tires you can choose for the car. Probably the most hated tire out there among track rats. Seems like it's better when used as a street tire for the straight line 60-130 guys. Luckily you won't have to put up with them for long as they become totally worthless within a few track days.. There are much better choices out there. In the meantime, set your pressures to 34/35 hot for a stock weight TT. You'll wanna start you session at 27/28 cold and see where you end up.
+1. Do yourself a favor and run the NT-01's. Been there done that.
Thanks for the tire pressure input pwdrhound. I was running them closer to 39 hot and they really didn't cool off so I'm hoping they behave better at the NHIS event later this month. I'll have to see what other DOT/track tires will fit the stock spec rims and still have the same diameter... don't want to burn up that pesky center diff.
hope i wont have to drop your name too luccia lol
