i am also just recently running the oz wheel in a gt2 fit, but al also frustrated that i can no longer run the MPSS. as they make the 235/40 very reasonably priced, while as we all know the 315/30 is North of 500 a copy which cant be had in the mpss!
but i wanted to add that the oz along with the p zero asym's seem like they'd make a very decent choice for track use even if you ran stock sizes as you seem to be. they're just a very sturdy tire once scrubbed and i think you'll find they outlast the michi ps2s but i have no experience running the sport cups so cant speak to that comparison.
I thought you were running F14s? When did you make the switch?
For the track u will need different brake pads and brake fluid to avoid fading. Cooling the brakes will be helpfull too. For aligment u should go to professional.

i was. but it's funny you mention it, as i'm STILL waiting for ONE damn 12" to come from italy ( this week air freight lol ) and the other is in a box at TR waiting with my name on it so i'm currently running f14's rear and the allegeritas in front! it looks ridiculous!
So the wing is Strosek? I was wondering. The OEM wing was in the backseat when I purchased the car, and the dealer said it had a "...GT2 wing". Based on the dealer's ad photos I was expecting a fixed wing, but this one has the original working hydraulic rams and actually works (for now). Regarding brakes - I need some recommendations for upgraded street/track pads that are relatively rotor-friendly.

what?! a 1/2 set rears only?! i munched one of the front 9's lol. so unless ya want three f14's
yes, it's a strosek. looks great with proper paint. i'm so lazy i plastidipped mine, and am re dipping it next week when i replace some wrapped bits. i guess i just like scotch tape even when it comes from a can lol

PFC 08 pads, Sebro Sport Rotors (stock will crack in one day sometimes, don't lose a track day, at least take some backups) Sebro's are like $400 or so for the fronts and will last you a whole season.
Stainless steel brake lines, Motul 660 fluid. Should be good to go on brakes with that setup for a while yet.
Ended up with a set of OEM size OZ Allegaritta wheels and R888 tires for my first track event. Can't say I like the tires all that much - lots of tread squirm and a soft turn-in, at least compared to the Hoosiers and MSPCs I used on my 968 for club racing. They get greasy after 3-4 laps. The car is great fun on the track, but it's a whole different approach - not a momentum car for sure. I'm constantly refining my line in order to straighten the car out and light the turbos sooner! German muscle car. Worth noting that the event was at the new Whiskey Hill Raceway in Palmer, Mass. It's a very complex track with several challenging series of corners that require planning and precision. They are still working on the track - adding striping, catch fences, and eventually curbing, but it's ready for action and there are loads of club events scheduled there this summer. Ordering some PFC brake pads for the COMSCC NHIS event coming up in a few weeks. I will need a real racing seat and harnesses next...

Run the proper psi at hot temps and scrub them hard until they break in, don't try to set a record until they break in, and have some fun them!

As you are finding out, the R888 is probably one of the worst track tires you can choose for the car. Probably the most hated tire out there among track rats. Seems like it's better when used as a street tire for the straight line 60-130 guys. Luckily you won't have to put up with them for long as they become totally worthless within a few track days.. There are much better choices out there. In the meantime, set your pressures to 34/35 hot for a stock weight TT. You'll wanna start you session at 27/28 cold and see where you end up.

I was there this past weekend in my 996TT (with PCA). I've just been there and NHIS. I like Palmer a bit more. Interesting watching videos, many different lines on the track.
My car is 100% stock currently (on Sumitomo HTR Z3). I didn't have any tire, brake issues (Motul 5.1 DOT), but I am just a beginner green driver so not moving too quick. Sumitomos were squealing a lot but held up well.
I am green to to HPDE, but 996TT is definitely an interesting car on the track. Soft and under tired, but the ground you lose through the corners is rapidly made up once the big turbos spool and all that turbo torque comes in handy up the hill. I am trying to decide if I want to setup the 996TT for dual street \ track duty or just build an E46 M3.
