Ok thanks, I'm running 245/305 combo on the 19's tho.
Thanks again

been following the progress of these "re-introduction" after the first iteration of these had some tread separation issues ( well rob and i have been following it lol ) and i believe they may have that issue sorted, as well as improved upon them which for me makes this the only other lower priced tire ( beside the advan 08's! ) that i think would be a good choice. the criteria being safety first, and cost second.

until then i am staying with the p zero's whether chinese or not. i'm beating the crap out of them up here and they are wearing well, and they afford me utter confidence, and i'm taking them to their limit, if such a thing can be done at speeds under XXX?

cant beat that price though eh?

I was looking to go back to a r888, but remember the weight of the tire and the noise that came with it. Any one know if they redesigned the tire or if they also get a lot of noise from them? They grabbed the road hard, but I did not like the trade off. However, that was in a different car.

I seldom hear of any mention for the Bridgestone Potensa S-04 Pole Positions on these forums, but they are a well regarded tire. Not necessarily better than the Super Sports but they should be pretty dang close. It's a well rounded tire especially if one uses these for aggressive street driving rather than track use.

Priced extremely well at the moment at tire rack - $257 for the 305s.

I remember having the Bridgestone S03's back in the day on another car, at the time it was their premier tire, I wasn't very impressed, especially after switching to Toyo T1S and then R, those were super quiet and grippy. Since then I have not looked back at Bridgestone. I thought about the R888s but hear they are loud.

I'm also considering the Hancook Ventus R-S3.. they seem to have good reviews.

Ps2

If you are interested in some PS2, I just put a set up for sale that are 997.1 take offs. I am considering selling wheels and tires separately. Take a look at the link the below.

I think it would be short-sighted to judge the S-04s based on your experience with the now very old S-03s. It's a new ballgame with these new gen tires.

I just came across this professional review and the S-04s were ranked really close to the Pilot Super Sports - http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/make-d...ot-super-sport

You're probably right, I tend to base my opinion on the company based on my past experience, but I'll think about it.

According to. This chart they are not too bad

My understanding is the super sports are way better than the ps2's and according to the rack the bridge stones rank below the ps2's.

I took my own advice and ordered a set. Let's see how these work out.

I currently run PS2s in 235/35 and 315/25. Switching to 245/35 and 305/30. Hoping less stagger will reduce some understeer, and sightly taller will give a better ride.

Got 13k miles out of the PS2s.

I would love to see some guys who have purchased the S-04 chime in here as I sell quite a few of them in 997 sizing. Right now they are a very popular choice given the apparent unavailability of the Super Sport. Hopefully the Super Sport resumes production soon, but I don't consider the S-04 to be a step down. In fact, when we have test driven the S-04 against the Super Sport I find that the S-04 to have better ride quality (over small bumps and expansion joints) and wet grip.

Both are ultra-high performance tires, and I think the S-04 is a fine substitute for the Super Sport.

they are on sale at Tire Rack. But I learned an expensive lesson as the 255's fronts, didn't fit on my lowered car, getting a set of 235's fingers crossed.

If anyone needs I have a set of 305/30/19 PSSs, one have a patch on it but still 100% safe to drive on. The tires have ~6k miles on them

I ended up swapping them out for R888 for a bit more grip.
