Re the Lidatek, I am going to install 1/4 inch mesh to replace the grills on my 996 TT to protect the radiators. Will this compromise the effectiveness of the LE-30 since it would be mounted behind these mesh grills somewhere?

Thx, dtmarsh
If you mount a laser jammer behind mesh, you will compromise its effectiveness. You need the jamming head to have an unobstructed view in order to jam laser properly.

You should definitely replace your SR1 with a Valentine One, check out how bad the Valentine One from the year 2000 beat the SR1 from that same year in radar detection. In the instant-on radar test from 2000 ft., the V1 went to full alert while the SR1 did not go to full alert.

Valentine One

X band 3.0 miles
K band 2.6 miles
Ka band 4.0 miles

Passport SR1

X band 1.4 miles
K band 1.5 miles
Ka band 1.9 miles

You CAN place it behind the mesh, but you have to make some provisions. Of course not using a mesh would be best, but it can be done. make sure that one of the 1/4 inch mesh openings is DEAD CENTER on the jammer. The light emitting diode, which actually jams the laser must have a clear point of view (it is set center-front). The laser detection modules are on each side of the diode and can be partially onstructed by mesh, since they are extremely sensitive.

I´m open to any extra questions you might have. And the V1 idea is great. You won´t regret it.

Hey guys, with the lidatek or Anti laser can you incorporate the licence plate frame to install the jambers or does this look like crap. On the Porsche rear bumper, I think the only place you can install the jamber is on the rear plate. Any ideas, Mike

That is correct, I never got a speeding ticket and outran the Texas troopers. However, you can't outrun the radio!

I was thrown in jail for evading arrest.

By the way V1 is the best detector.

Carlos from Rennteam has been thinking about making a license plate frame to incorporate two LE-30 heads, but he hasn´t made anything yet. It would probably look cool with a bit of fabrication.

I have 2 Escort 8500s and 2 V1s with 1 on order. The escorts are sitting in a closet somewhere. Once you use a V1, there is absolutely no going back. The sensitivity can't be beat and the directional indicators are awesome. They are like little fingers pointing at which direction the police car is. The best part is that you can tell if someone is coming up behind you or if you are coming up on someone. With experience, you can even tell which direction the radar gun is pointed so you can just throttle it right after you pass the speed trap.

How prevalent is laser in CA? Is the CHP using laser?
Offer still stands If your not using the 8500s and are sitting in your closet how about cleaning out the closet and finding them
