Royal Purple OK in our transaxles?
I'll let someone who actually knows chime in but from the searching and reading I've been doing it sounds like it affects the syncros and their ability to properly stop spinning on the friction surfaces when shifting gears. I would guess the side affect is grinding gears because the syncros can't do their job?
i have always been taught?/told that friction modifiers ONLY count when using the lsd, which is why redline 75/90 ( the normal one! ) is perfect for a non lsd running ( read stock 996 turbo ) if rob is right, then i defer, but i'll venture a common sensical "guess"
the reason oil withOUT friction modifiers is to specifically be used ( for real ) in cars running an lsd is you dont want anything that will limit the lsd's ability to LIMIT SLIP!
which as i understand them? is what friction modifiers do, they allow for increased slippage to better serve synchros etc. exactly what you do NOT want when running an lsd or a TBD. someone correct me if i'm just high. no make that, just plain "wrong". as i may(?!) have this back asswards lol

holy cow steve, I've said that at least 5 times lol. but thanks.
and luftenic is where i just got my recent gallon from too. i like to support pure porsche small shops when i can, all else being equal.

my question is if friction modifiers are needed to extend the life of the syncs but not wanted for the lad whats the best to use? just spent 1500$ rebuilding 3 and 4 syncro in the built trans. Estelle syncs now with a wavetrac
its 60 free shipping while luftenic(sp??!) is 47 plus 15 shipping. ya know.. pick one lol. for the three extra bucks i chose to support luftnic as they have great parts and are dedicated porsche people and have access to hard to find oem stuff. like MO 30's for example

bro, you'll have that sh*t next day. theyre in VA? i think. but again! if i were you!? i'd run redline 75/90 period. its track tested and used for years and years! its the bomb for stock tt trans'!
the delvac you're looking at is withOUT friction modifiers! you have NO LSD!! never mind
you know what you're doing, use the delvac MOBIL ONE 75/90 ( make sure its the good sh*t! ) from lufktnic i'm sure you'll be fine as everyone ELSE says lol ( i finally spelled it! LOL )

factory/Guard LSD/OSGIKEN/ etc use clutches, Quiafe/Wavetrac/Guard TBD use 'worm gears'...either way no friction modifier for synchro performance and the added 'stickyness' adds to the LSD performance... this is transaxle vs a standard rear diff...

Im also an Amsoil fan. I just did my tranny and front diff with this about a month ago...
