Front coolant leak rad?

1) well Looks like only when the car sits for a week or so, I see front center, bottom, tiny wet spots on the floor,- explains some coolant smell when i pull in.

system was pressurized/tested like 2 months ago-
showing no leak and the car stayed for few days at the shop-

anyone ever experienced that? easy fix? wondering maybe its a hose that is leaking.

I guess its time to take that bumper off.

Take the bumper off and find the source of leak, if it needs a radiator I would go with all three new aluminum.

In 2013 I found a leak and it was coming from the plastic top of the radiator. Decided to compress the tabs that hold it in place...No leak since !!!! Luck or manufactur defect ???? See link for explanation:

Way back when,. I had an issue where my coolant hose popped off on the highway....scared the crap out of me...plumes of white smoke out the back...turned out the smaller coolant line on the drivers side radiator corroded and came out..Just bought a new hose and reinstalled...with some safety wire for good measure. Can post a pic if necessary...just need to pull off wheel and inner fender...easily accessible as I recall...

if one rad was bad or had a pinole leak, i dont know why you'd wan't/need to replace all three!? rads are to me, unless upgrading for performance a "replace as NEEDED" item in my book.

i've got 20 k miles at LEAST from my USED replacement rad taken from and old dead 986. hah porsche cadaver pilferage

Take the bumper cover off. If you can arrange to do so take it off with the engine fully up to temperature. The odds are you will see fresh (wet) signs of coolant leak.

Very early Jan. this year I had my Turbo in for a 5K mile oil/filter service at a dealer in the mid-west -- I was on family business -- and the tech spotted signs of radiator leaks. Turns out all 3 were leaking at the bottom where the end tank connects to the core.

The radiators were fine when I left CA Dec. 16. I suspect the extreme cold -- temps down in the single digits -- with the resulting expansion when running the engine followed by contraction as the radiators cooled way down by 200F in just a few hours' time contributed to their demise.

If you find a radiator leaking up to you if you want to replace just the leaking one or all 3. While it is expensive to replace all 3 there is the real risk that shortly after you replace one, another will develop a leak, and then after that one is replaced the 3rd one will then start to leak.

As for what to use for replacement, there are reports of aftermarket radiators but I have no experience with them. The dealer installed factory radiators into my car.

If (big if) the replacement radiators need replacing at that time I'll research aftermarket radiator solutions.

I replace most things as a unit and I consider the radiators a working unit= repair once with the best parts is my line of thinking. But that's just my opinion.

* Thanks guys, well What I'm going to do just take the bumper off and inspect.

Side rads are perfectly clean only center one/very little bottom of it, its wet. like a hair line across bottom...I cannot tell until I remove it. If i slide my hand under, it feels wet and shows some sign- I cannot say for sure where its leaking from until i take the bumper off also I will take the inner fenders from both sides and inspect the piping if I see anything corroded, ill replace it.

I will only replace the one that is leaking. I dont drive the car a lot I dont race the car neither

ill keep you guys posted.

I hope you don't run into this problem, I just purchased my TT and had taken it in for an oil pressure sender. The guys at Autoscope looked my car over and BAM. They found this lovely surprise. Between the oil sending unit, oil service, spark plugs and both side radiators my new to me TT she is becoming an expensive date really fast. LOL

Good luck on your coolant leak search sir.
