Replacing my stock turbo flywheel and clutch setup with a light weight flywheel (LWFW). The new bolts are short stubby ones compare to the long ones needed on the stock dual mass flywheel (DMFW).

According to the part # the lwfw shows up as a 997 GT3RS flywheel. Any ideas on torque spec bolting that up to my crankshaft?

What about the clutch to flywheel torque spec?

I take it everyone gets their clutch installed so they don't know the torque specs on the bolts?

 

From what I've read 19 initial 120 end torque but I'm sure some else will say. Pm powdrhound.

I found the 04 Turbo 996 manual. Inside it has

Flywheel to crank = 63 ft/lb
Clutch to flywheel = 17 ft/lb

A fellow I met on facebook in a 911 group found a PDF for the GT3 RS with a single mass flywheel and it had

Flywheel to crank = 67 ft/lb
Clutch to flywheel = 19 ft/lb

However no where in the document did it say if that GT3 RS was a 996 or 997. The guy who found it believes it to be for the 996 GT3 RS just based on where he found the doc (Rennlist paid member tech document area which I do not have access to). I believe the part # for my flywheel shows up on Pelican Parts as a 997 GT3 RS. Is there a difference between the 996 and 997 GT3 RS flywheel torque specs? I don't know yet.

I thought I remembered that the there are basically two single mass fw from porsche. One is like 11 and one is 9 lbs.

I think the more commonly used one is the single mass from the gt3.

It seems like the parts have been used in various models over the last 20ish years.

I think if you find the model it comes on and then look in the manual of that model you can find it.

I have the 11 lb flywheel. You are right Porsche has re-used the parts many times over the years and you'll see the part # interchanges so many different models and years. I went back and re-searched my part # 964-102-239-31-M894 again and it's showing up as a 996 RS flywheel. I'm going to use the specs from the PDF you sent me. Thanks again for all the help!
