Use BBI coils and never replace them again. Yes - they are definitely worth the extra cost! Anyone who has them will confirm the difference. Those who do not have them like to speculate that they won't improve performance very much - they don't know any better.

 

^ i'm sure you're right but the 800/900 cost for a set of coils has kept me from the bbi's and stayed with bosch/beru. i almost bit the bbi bullet but haven't. i bet they will outlast oems but by how long is the question?

They are guaranteed for life. They are actually made by Plasma Direct. I bought a set for my G35 quite a few years back. I had them for over 5 years - never a problem. It's not that you just won't have to replace the OEMs again, these actually make the car run smoother. No matter how good you think things are running now, there will be a noticeable improvement once the BBIs are installed.

i dont doubt it all. theyre on my list of never ending add ons that i pick and choose from once or twice a year. largely owing to your recommendations of them.

i just think i'll get better bang for my next discretionary buck with adding the 997.2 i/c's and injectors as i'm now only 5 bar and gt2 ic's, the cheese graters. especially if these manthey inlets happen. that'd be a quick 3k pop.

dont get me wrong, i'd love to have em, i just have to pick and choose on discretionary spends and i just hit a 5K rock lol so for the moment anyway 90$ coils are gonna have to stay

Where is the best place to buy coils? I see them from 175 to 500 for 997 ones. Also, are all 997 the same? Turbo, cararra, ect?

 

yeah, about 42 each bosch or beru. all the same. ecs or pelican bosch or beru. depends on your geography.


or cough up the 900 for bbi plasmas!

I'd run those coils of I was in the 1000 hp club, otherwise what's the point. The is a set of 997 on eBay for much less. Is there some genetic brand that will destroy the car and kill everyone like the rebuilt alternators? Lol ;-)
