Violation 5200 in California - no front plate.. Help
I have one of those. I bought it after my front plate ticket. Never had a problem with it. I have it mounted pretty tight and I didn't remove it at the track (didn't think about it). Seems solid as a rock to me.
license plate readers. don't ya feel safer now?

"Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR)"
EFF and the ACLU of Southern California each sent California Public Records Act requests to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department seeking documents about each agency's use of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) systems—sophisticated cameras mounted on squad cars and street poles that read license plates and record the time, date, and location a particular car was encountered.
Location-based information like license plate data can be very revealing. By matching your car to a particular time, date and location, and then building a database of that information over time, law enforcement can learn where you work and live, what doctor you go to, which religious services you attend, and who your friends are.
Given the sensitive nature of this data, EFF and ACLU-SC wanted further information on how the agencies were using the systems. The organizations asked for documents relating to policy and training on ALPRs, as well as a week’s worth of ALPR data collected by the agencies in 2012. While the sheriff and police departments produced some materials, they failed to provide documents related to sharing information with other agencies, and neither agency produced the data collected during the one-week period. After this failure to comply with the California PRA, EFF and ACLU-SC filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court."
well, of course they didn't lol. they log me at least a 100 times a day and i support my local sheriff's with time AND money
..and i'm not paranoid either
it's meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
what on earth would one suppose the demand and rapid increase in write-ups for violation of the infractions for "no visible front plate" are for!? this is what front plates are ultimately really about, whereas once they didn't "matter". that and accident camera capture etc etc. but it goes deep.. believe it.. or not LOL

ALPR, toll transponders, traffic cameras, red light cameras, speed cameras, OnStar systems, Waze/Google Nav... everyone is just an authorization away from being droned. But that's a conversation for another day.
Exhaust drone, though? We can go on for hours.

Tow hook solution is a good solution without doing damage to your bumper as I've had to to this in the past with my C2. Just take the bumper cap off completely and store it in you glove box or somewhere and not miss it. I had an eBay solution at about 50 bucks. If you go pay the 250.00 fine, I believe you are still subjected to getting fined again, it is not a one time fee and you are home free.
Of course, if you have a buddy, they can sign it off for you as others have said

Rxbike is that a typo? I think its still "only" a 25$ infraction though some chp offices are now charging ten bucks to even sign off on it. The fine itself of course goes to the "revenuers" lol

The 25.00 fine is the court processing fee if you do get one on and get it signed off. I've never heard of an officer charging to sign it off.
and yes cops dont charge to "sign off", but chp has begun implementing a "processing" fee for certain equipment correction violations though it has not happened "yet" at my local chp office. it will be statewide soon enough.
This tree hugging state need funds to help off set the free monies it offers as "im entitled " because. ...
I've even seen police officer ticket cars for this in faction.
One would think that with all the crime they would focus on that.

I have this one I got from my local Porsche indie shop. The company is called Mower Deck Axle Co. LLC. It is substantial. I never installed it, because knock on wood, the issue has never been pressed hard enough, but if I have to it is just a tow-hook install. The aluminum is thick enough I do not see it flexing into the bumper.
