Still searching

I drove to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area to look at cars in the area. Made appoint ments and hung out.
All owners stated they had all service records, dyno charts.
Not one car had a complete service record.(word documents w mileage dont count)
Not one owner had the spec sheet or dyno run on their fully upgraded turbo package 525 to 575 awhp car (a comparison to other cars with known packages
and verified dyno numbers is not a dyno sheet).
All cars looked well loved and im not saying their owners claims are untrue.I just want to feel comfortable b4 I shell out 40-50 k.
I just want to see receipts for the maint. performed, a build sheet and dyno run for your turbo package upgrade.
I dont even mind if they did the services themselves just show me the parts rect that fits in the timeline.
Most importantly I had an owner who was nice enough to take me for a ride in his built Audi tt with dyno verified 425 awhp. It pulled harder than all the 996tt i have ridden in.
I just think 40k into a audi tt (donor car, race engine, turbo sys, brake/susp upgrades) is a lot safer to buy the porsche.
I really need to go for a ride in a 550awhp dyno verified car to get a feel for how the car should perform.
Thanks for the help guys keep guiding my path.
BTW 106 in shade in Phoenix over the weekend all owners said it was hurting cars performance.

Aftermarket stuff adds up fast. If you can find an excellent no issues car with tons of great high quality parts that hasn't been abused (I did and I'm not alone) pay the "extra" freight and you'll save money.

I never understand buyers who have a very specific list of wants, like records and low miles and excellent condition and specific mods. Then they find the exact car to fit their desires and want to pay bottom dollar for it, usually encouraged by a lot of people here to try to get a steal.

I hope sellers with top quality cars stay firm on their price - the lowball cars are priced that way for a reason and that's why you end up not wanting them. If you want a primo car, pay the primo price and be happy about it.

If my car warrants a $50k price, I'd be annoyed if you wasted my time with a $40-42k offer or even a $45k cash in hand offer. I guess other folks are in a bigger hurry to lose money than me though.

of course you don't! lol

the cars are worth anywhere btw 25 and 75k running lol. pick your wants and needs, and that'll determine the price you pay.

Lackluster job on your reading comprehension, but A+ for your cut and paste ability to quote only part of my post to miss the point entirely.

Read it again, and don't get too tripped up with the period that indicates this sentence is ending and the next sentence is beginning, which is the conclusion to my point.

In summary - if you have a specific list of what you want, and then you find it exactly as you wish, don't then try to lowball your offer as if the car isn't what you want. It wastes everyone's time.

5-10k more is worth spending to get the car you want= its not like you can order one to your specifications. In another 5 years they will really be picked over with largely modded higher mileage and low mileage stock garage queens being the offering.

Advice before diving in

Since buying my turbo i have come to see that a well taken care of car is worth much more than the average price you see on cars.com. the average price is for a clean and running car. if the car you're looking at has a lot of new parts including suspension and exhaust as well as accessories (such as wp, alternator, mounts, pulleys), get closer in price and buy it. Keep in mind simply not driving the car does not mean well taken care of as by now they all need new suspension and other components.

There are plenty of low mileage cars with suspensions working perfectly but agree if you want better handling it helps to replace. My cars visible seals/rubber etc is still pliable and look new= I know you can argue motor seals/ plastic etc. My interior still smells new, now if they would stop putting rocks/ tar on my roads the chips would be less lol. I find higher asking prices on autotraders etc than here and rlist.

My philosophy is if you find the car you want, pay what they're asking for it. If you're buying a car like this, what's a few grand to get what you want?
