Coils and plugs
Honestly, you'll notice that everyone on here has their own preference when it comes to P cars. They've all done their research, and all have different tuners. My advice, I would ask whomever your tuner/ aftermarket parts supplier is for your plug. They know your build and have been in the business long enough to give you the right advice, but if you ask multiple tuners I'm sure they'll all give you a different plug. Plugs, oil, wax, and conditioner are all, but just some of the topics that everyone has their own personal preference. My vote goes to SamboTT@bydesign. Very knowledgeable and that's who I use. Good luck!
I have said this before... Plasma Direct makes a much superior coil (google search for more info). These are sold by BBI. My car was running quite nicely (I thought) with the 997 coils but I bought the BBI coils as more of a preventative measure. I could not believe the difference in how smooth the engine ran with them. Guaranteed for life and well worth the cost - totally plug and play. If you don't want to replace your coils every time you change your plugs, this is the way to go. I have had mine for about 3 years now and not an issue ever since.
that may be a bit of an underestimation of the quality of the normal coils. i changed my coils at least 4 plug changes ago and i change them proactively and possibly even obsessively. 30k miles easy on the beru coils I've got. i cant even imagine the car running any "smoother"?! i mean, what's it supposed to do differently? i hit 1.3 bar in 105 heat! so the coils i swapped 30k miles ago for 200 bucks are still just fine.

That is the problem - like you, I thought my coils were fine. The extra quality really does make a difference. You can disagree with me when you have actually tried it. There is nothing I can do to demonstrate the difference - all I can say is - there is a difference.
but i can tell you, i can't even imagine, or feel what might be missing. so yes, only having them would say one way or another definitively. agreed.

Yes, the technology says - more consistent and stronger spark. I was so impressed with them on my last car, I had to have them for the 996 TT.

$47/coil for OEM.
$1650.00 for a set from Okada.
I'm all for buying "the best for my baby" but that's daylight robbery.
I will order them and try them and give a report on them. I think with the Tip, I will be able to feel ANY difference. It shifts into the highest gear possible at the slowest speed so it's pretty sensitive. This tank I'm running catless with 110 race gas and she is very smooth! I just wanted to see how she runs. I have 4 brand new O2 sensors and will install them when this tank is gone and switch back to 93 and 100 unleaded and may put the cats back on. My buddy just bought a 2015 Mustang 5.0 Track Pak and last week we installed a Pro Charger stage 2 kit on it in our shop one night after 5 and he pulls good now. I still slowly pull off of him on the highway but I would like to make sure I can keep pulling him..lol
!?! i could swear! the group buy a few yrs back was no more than 900! is that possible? I'm purty sure...?
Now that you mention it, I got in on that one...
I dunno', so long as the mixture ignites at the proper time I'll call it a day. When cylinder pressure skyrockets and a stock coil can't jump the gap I'll sweat it. If the plasma coils were anywhere near in cost it might be worthwhile to me but I'm not missing now so I'm not sure it would solve any particular problem that a fresh set of plugs wouldn't...
