I wouldn't trade it for any new Porsche, they do nothing for me at this point, not even sure I'd trade for a 7GT2 to be honest...have always loved the simple purity and modern performance of the 6GT2

Keep the GT2 as the 991 will just be another car in the future= your car is a keeper.

what I have learned in the discussions most people in europe buy the GT2 not to drive but because of the possible profit speculation at this time

but it is not possible for me not to drive it , it is a drug

what ever value today a GT2 has...it is the same after 4 Years...a new car loose round about 50% after 4 Years

mine has well over theoretically doubled in value since I bought...don't care, bought what I loved and love what I have and don't see anything else as an upgrade, besides 'on-paper'...I've grown up around all Porsche's, this is a keeper car
Only other street Porsche I really want is another 914, many Porsche racers I want 956/962/917 etc...

haha, I'll tell you what Mark, if someone wants to buy a 2003 silver on full leather black(no coloured stitching, gauges, belts etc ), very well sorted original paint/no accidents/stories GT2 with 79xxxKM on it... $300k USD takes it, offer valid until Spring 2016.
If it sells, I'll wait til 991GT3RS prices crash (Lmao) and be a new-school sell-out and daily drive that year-round
But really, bought mine as a 'driver' GT2 that while very clean, has higher mileage...it is light years nicer then many of the ones out there, and if I keep it that way, it'll still pull the money in 50years...think 73 RS, 356 Speedster 300SL, old F-car, condition/mileage really has little effect on their current values, rarity is the key...and the 305 N.A(1287 Worldwide) 996 GT2's sure have that
Cheers,
Rob

i still admire your "IDGAF" stance on "diminishing" value vs "daily" driving!

we're all a "bit" nuts and that's just how yours is beginning to manifest is all lol. mine is stuff like re-torqueing my lugs every 10th day LOL

hang onto it, it's ALWAYS gonna be worth a premium as long as you don't do anything rash.

add: don't hold your breath for that price "crash"?! ( my dream car also ( well the .7.2RS its a tossup! ) is the 3rs ! ) i saw up close and personal a '16 in "Prince Purple" for $399,000.00 ( i heard it got wrecked a week later?? ( unconfirmed )

the white one ( also a 2016 gt3RS ) was at $350k ( asking ) was the "steal"! lol was only 150 over sticker hah!

i didn give the orange a 2nd ( well, ok a 3rd..lol ) glance. that orange is just not my thing. striking though it arguably is.

don't get me wrong, value is always important (I've had more cars then years old I am, started at age 12 and everyone has been a 'winner' for me ), but I bought it to own and drive for the next 50 or so years...why buy your favourite street car and park it? It's staying with me forever and I treat it in the most OCD fashion as you can imagine, lol.
And hey I've done well, its doubled in value since I bought it, its 'giving'me $2.33/km so far hahaha ...it's also insured properly should anything horrible every happen :S
One of the big dealers in Ontario is in trouble by P-Canada for driving new GT3RS as a demo then reselling them for way above MRSP...

2004 GT2's are really scarce, right? Last year of production, and low numbers to begin with.

I would make a WAG that a nice example would bring $200k+ these days if it retained collectible interest.

EDIT: listing says "stock twists" - I thought the 04 GT2 had a GT3 style spoked wheel in GT2 sizes?

2004 and 2005 had 'GT3' style split 5/10 spoke wheels and standard/optional carbon finish exterior bits( rear spoiler, mirrors) and a few small updates

So '05 are the real unicorns, although both are rare. Thanks for clarifying.

Yessir, very few 2005's....however, condition seems to always be the most important price factor
