Several codes regarding fuel system.
Currently have a code pop up, P0444, earlier today before I reset the ECU I got P0442. I had taken a quick leak at the visible fuel lines, which I had disconnected earlier. Reconnected all of them.
P0442 is a leak somewhere in the vacuum.
A loose or improperly affixed gas cap A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand) A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube Other small leak in EVAP system Faulty vent o-ring seal Defective vent valve Defective purge valve Defective leak detection pump
I replaced the gas cap, since I had a new OEM one. I also replaced the fuel filter with OEM replacement.
I reset the ECU and after about 10 miles I got a P0444 electric tank valve.
Now I am pretty sure I do not all of the sudden have a problem with the fuel tank vent valve, although it is possible.
That said, I do not smell any fuel. I am wondering could this still be a line the is not connected properly, or should I go ahead and replace the vent valve, VALVE - PORSCHE (996-605-203-01)? Either way I am going to have to trace all lines and see.
Thoughts, thank again for the input.

Diagnosis conditions
• Engine running
• Battery voltage greater than 7 V
Possible fault cause
♦ Wiring harness
♦ EVAP canister purge valve
♦ DME control module
There are some specific tests.
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
P0444
1)
Check voltage supply for EVAP canister purge valve
♦ Remove connector of EVAP can- ister purge valve
♦ Measure voltage between EVAP canister purge valve plug Pin 1 and ground
♦ Switch on the ignition
> 11 V ⇒ Step 2
Repair voltage supply
2)
Check EVAP canister purge valve
♦ Remove connector of EVAP canister purge valve
♦ Measure resistance between EVAP canister purge valve Pin 1 and Pin 2
26 ± 4 Ω (at 20 °C) ⇒ Step 3
Check EVAP canister purge valve
3)
Check triggering wire for EVAP canister purge valve
♦ Remove connector of EVAP canister purge valve
♦ Connect special tool 9637 to wiring harness (DME control module plug)
♦ Measure resistance between EVAP canister purge valve Pin 2 and special tool 9637 Pin III/3
0-5Ω ⇒ Step 4
Repair wiring harness
4)
Replace DME control module
⇒ Step 5
5)
Perform adaptation
♦ Switch on the ignition
♦ Wait one minute
♦ Do not press the accelerator
♦ Switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds
♦ Read out the fault memory
