disconnecting the airbag

I need to disconnect the airbag in the passenger door in my 2004 TT cab. I know you have to disconnect the battery and wait 15 minutes, but I can't find anywhere where it tells you how to disconnect this connector. Not sure if I slide the purple piece back, or pull it out? doesn't look like it slides back. It looks like a couple of reliefs to pop it towards me, but it almost looks like one of those splicing connectors. Then does the forward piece simply slide forward to disconnect?
