Popping sound from shifter when going into 2nd and 4th (997 shifter)

I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this. I installed a 997 shifter a little while ago and I am getting a popping/clunk sound when shifting into 2nd or 4th. The sound is coming directly from the shifter. I am going to pull off the **** and boot to see if anything is hitting or binding but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this. I did use the alignment tool when I put it on so Im pretty sure its not the cables.

Cheers,
Mav

I would do as you mentioned and take a look and see what is binding/loose.

Sounds like the cable connection hitting the bottom of the shifter housing. I would take it apart and make sure you got the cables pressed all the way in and the spring loaded retainer seated correctly.
